What to expect
- Arrive to your appointment with a clean face (i.e. no makeup or skincare products).
- Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event. Redness and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
- Let the provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
- You may not have an active rash in the area being treated.
- Avoidance of Accutane for the past 6 months is required.
- Avoidance of IPL/BBL, laser procedures and waxing for the past 7 days is required.
- Discontinue topical retinoids one week before treatment to reduce sensitivity.
- Your provider will examine your facial skin and discuss your concerns.
- The provider will select the ideal chemical peel for your skin concerns.
- The chemical peel will be applied to your skin.
- You’ll receive a post-treatment skincare kit to help your skin heal.
- Redness or sensitivity might be present (and last up to a few days).
- Peeling may start 1-3 days after treatment.
- Do not pick or scratch at treated skin.
- Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours or until skin is done peeling.
- Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
- If exposed to the sun, always use broad spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.
- Wear sun protective hats.
- May restart regular skin care routine and exfoliants (retinol, AHAs, salicylic acid) in 7 days or once skin is no longer peeling.

What peels do you use at Hi, Finch?
We use VI Peels at Hi, Finch. These peels have been featured in Cosmopolitan. They are proven to accelerate the results from other treatments such as injectables, lasers, microneedling, and BBL.
How much will my skin peel?
VI Peels are medium-depth, so your skin may mildly flake or peel after about two days and continue shedding for around 5 days. As such, you should schedule the treatment at least one or two weeks before major events.
Do VI Peels hurt?
VI Peels peels are designed to be virtually painless. You may experience very mild irritation.
What ingredients are in the VI Peels?
5 ingredients in all VI Peels:
Salicylic acid - BHA and keratolytic. Treats acne, reduces clogged pores, and is anti-anflammatory
Retinoic acid - Vitamin A. Promotes cellular turnover, collagen and elastin production, and prevents hyperpigmentation from forming
Phenol - A chemical cauterant. Traps free radicals, and is an effective anesthetic helping to increase comfortability of the treatment
Trichloric acid (TCA) - Increases the depth of the peel for increased efficacy, while also stimulating collagen production
Ascorbic Acid - Vitamin C. Antioxidant that protects against UV damage. Reduces redness, reduces inflammation, and prevents hyperpigmentation from forming
